A university is not only a place for gaining knowledge, but also a big school that prepares students for real life. At Alfraganus University, many initiatives are organized to make students’ free time meaningful and to equip them with practical skills useful for the future. One of such projects is the “AFU Cooking Club,” which has quickly gained great popularity.

A new beginning and big results
Starting from scratch this academic year, the club has become one of the most active communities at the university. What began with just a few enthusiastic students has now grown to more than 50 regular members. Notably, the club brings together not only female students but also many male students eager to learn culinary skills.
In a short period, the club has organized 11 practical sessions and 2 field (off-site) classes. During these visits, students had the opportunity to explore well-known restaurants in the city, observe professional chefs at work, and receive valuable advice from them.

The latest practical session was held in an engaging and energetic atmosphere. The topic of this session was “Fruit Salad” preparation and presentation.
Participants learned not only how to select and cut fruits properly, but also how to preserve their vitamins and combine them with different sauces. The most exciting part was the presentation stage, where each student creatively designed their dish, proving that cooking is not just a routine task but an art.

The “AFU Cooking Club” does not plan to limit itself to a single type of cuisine. The club aims to explore both national dishes and international culinary masterpieces in the future. It also plans to organize cooking competitions and festivals at the university level.
Such practical clubs help students develop communication skills, teamwork, and self-confidence. After all, a student who enjoys the results of their own efforts approaches other life challenges with greater enthusiasm.
